Tom is a native of Covington, Louisiana. He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1987. In 1992, Tom earned his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Upon graduation from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Tom began his practice in New Orleans. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the handling of all types of civil litigation, including the defense of claims for major insurance concerns underwriting coverage in the State of Louisiana. He has also handled coverage litigation for many of these insurance concerns. Tom has handled various types of product liability litigation, including suits against former manufacturers of asbestos-containing products.

Tom is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Mississippi. He is admitted to practice in all state courts of Louisiana and Mississippi as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. Tom is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Tom is a member of the Greater Covington, New Orleans, Federal and Louisiana State Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute and Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association.

Tom is married to the former Nicole Monlezun. They have three children, Thomas, Lily and Ben and reside in Covington, Louisiana.
